Coral lipstick – yay or nay for brown skins?
A definite yay I say! I saw it on Jourdan Dunn on the Moschino Spring/Summer 2013 catwalk and on celebs like Meagan Goode and Queen Beyonce.
I was recently sent a sample of the new Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Colour in Valencia Orange. When I first opened it I was a little afraid of the bright coral lipstick and left it on the proverbial shelf for a week or so until I drummed up the courage to wear it (I’m strictly a nude gloss kinda gal).
I love a matte lip; if I want shimmer and shine I’ll wear gloss and I personally think matte looks a bit more contemporary. The Creamy Matte Lip Colour comes in 12 shades including Red Carpet, Razzberry and Warm Beige; all colours that I think will look great on brown skins. The darker your skin the more adventurous you can be with colour so it’s a great way to add a little jazz pazazz to your face.
For day/work I wear the Valencia Orange with Clinique Goldspun lip gloss on top to tone down the orange but for a night out or anywhere other than work I slap on that Valencia Orange with wild abandon. My lips are naturally on the dark side so I apply a generous amount to get good coverage and I’m pleased to say the lipstick has good staying power.
Highly pigmented colours can be a bit drying but the Creamy Matte Lip Colour contains soft waxes to ensure it doesn’t fade, feather or leave your lips parched.
Will you be trying any of the new Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Colour range?

Pretty !
I never thought about using coral but those colours look very nice. Bright colours work well when you cannot be bothered to put a full face on so the lipstick does all the work. I will be looking out for these shades.
