It might seem odd talking about Autumn/Winter 2012 when we’re still waiting for Spring (never mind Summer) to arrive but that is the way the fashion industry works.
After a great start in New York, fashion season continues with London’s turn starting today. London is famed for its creativity, diversity and raw talent but to be honest, we prefer the uptown chic that a lot of the New York designers offer.
The exceptions to the rule are Burberry Prorsum (How do I love thee? Let me count the ways) and the vibrant prints at Mary Katrantzou. We could quite happily wear nothing else.
Back in New York, one of the few black, female designers to show at Fashion Week was Tracy Reese. Style.com said the collection had ‘bold energy’ but we were in love with the bright colours. Imagine wearing them on a cold winter’s day and kicking Seasonal Adjustment Disorder’s ass!
