Model turned chef Lorraine Pascale is cover girl for the special anniversary October issue of Good Housekeeping magazine.
Lorraine was the first British black woman to appear on the cover of American Elle and appeared in advertising campaigns for Versace and Donna Karan.
Inside the magazine she talks about making the move from model to chef and how she wasn’t taken seriously at first. She said: ‘There was a lot of negativity and jokes from others when I was doing all these courses. A lot of people were laughing at me saying: “What’s she doing, why doesn’t she just stick to modelling?”’
She is having the last laugh as the star of her own BBC cooking show and author of recipe books which have sold almost one million copies in the UK alone.
Lorraine’s full interview, where she discusses her recipe inspiration, being a mother and her future plans, is in the October edition of Good Housekeeping which is on sale now.
