Cheat Your Way To Good Skin

1 Comment 29 September 2012

Regardless of the season, a clean and luminous complexion is always in fashion. But what if you haven’t been blessed with naturally good skin – can you cheat your way there? Of course!

We know we go on about but we can’t stress enough the importance of a good skincare routine. Always CTM (cleanse, tone, moisturise) especially now your skin is being exposed to wind and rain outside and moisture sapping air conditioning and heating when you’re inside.

We’ve recently fallen for the Nuxe Paris Creme Fraiche de Beaute range which is perfect if your skin is feeling a little parched. The collection includes a mask, moisturiser, face and eye contour cream, and a night cream. Most Nuxe products contain at least 90% natural ingredients and are paraben free. Prices start at £23.50.

It took us a while but we’ve finally understood and got on board with the power of blush. It gives your face a healthy glow and is great for hiding signs of tiredness. We prefer cream blush (apply with your fingers) but powdered works just as well. We wear MAC laid back blush creme.

Things have improved hundred fold when it comes to foundation for brown skins. With Chanel, Lancôme and YSL all embracing darker skins, there really is no excuse for wearing shades that don’t suit or that are blatantly too light/dark for your skin tone. We’ve recently got into mineral make up – great for when you don’t want/need the full coverage of a foundation but still want a little pick me up for your skin. We’re using MAC Sun Power Mineralize Skinfinish (£24).

Don’t underestimate the power of a good brow – no unibrow or caterpillars here please. MAC Director of Make Up Artistry Terry Barber calls brows ‘the coat hanger of the face’ so keep them as full and as filled in as possible to help frame your entire look. Try Clinique’s superfine liner for brows in 04 (£15.50).

Last but by no means least, help your eyes to pop with Benefit’s new eye illuminating kit ‘peek a bright eyes’. The palette contains all you need (including very easy to follow instructions) on how to use the contents to contour and highlight your eyes.

£24.50

What do you use to brighten your face?

Great post! I may have to check out Benefit’s eye illuminating kit. My makeup must have YSL mascara in plum. It makes my lashes looks fabulous.
